FAQ

I don't know which waist beads closure to buy?

This choice can vary based on the purpose of purchase, but typically a stretchy (slip on) ones are easier to put on as there is no need to tie it; but those are mostly fashionable styles. Equally the tie on closure beads can be tied loosely without setting intention; so you can easily tie the waist beads on your belly or on top of your womb, which you can untie after usage.

However, if you are setting an intention, you must tie the knot correctly and it is recommended not take your waist beads off until your manifestation or healing is successful.

Can I layer my waist beads?

Yes, you can layer your waist beads no matter the design/styles, as many as you wish. In fact, for those who will wear it for spiritual purposes, can wear different coloured ones for each manifestation, but you will just need to really set your intentions by focusing your energy on each waist beads individually, then tie them on.

Where do I tie my waist beads?

Traditionally, waist beads are worn inside the clothes, so it is not seen by everyone as if you wear it for spiritual purposes, you do not want to attract eye, or outside energy towards it. So, your waist beads, should be tied around your waist to sit just on top of your womb, the source of all human life creation.

However, you can tie your waist beads on your belly if you wish, but please take your measurement, so you can buy the correct size.

How do I wash my waist beads?

The tied on waist beads are made with cotton thread (or with cotton and a bit of polyester on some styles), so you can take baths, showers or go swimming in them without problem with durability. But please bear in mind that the colour of the white thread will fade slightly over time due the wear  So, you can wash it along with your soapy sponge as you shower, then pat dry it gently with your towel.

It is not recommended to take regular shower or bath with your stretchy beads because it is made with elastic thread, because with time it will eventually become loose, so to help with durability, please take your slip on waist beads before getting into water. If you need to clean it, run it under soapy water for 2 minutes then pat dry it gently with your towel and let it dry indoors.

What is the history of waist beads?

In terms of history, waist beads have long been used in African’s cultures as a symbol of femininity, seduction, adornment, shaping waistline, fertility, spirituality, wealth, protection, healing and prosperity; for many centuries (as early as the 15th century).
